IT Security Specialist

We currently have an immediate full-time position opening for an IT Security Specialist located in City of Industry, California.


Job Summary:

The IT Security Specialist position is responsible for actively protecting Astrophysics’ technology assets from external and internal threats.


  • Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating IT Policies and Procedures for our communication systems and networks, in coordination with the IT Team and provide advice to protect Astrophysics against cyber and other threats that could inflict significant damage through interruption of service, intellectual property theft, network viruses and theft of other sensitive data. 
  • Ensure that systems and personnel adhere to established security standards and Governmental requirements for security on these systems.
  • Develop plans to safeguard computer files against unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure.
  • Conduct risk assessments and tests on security measures and perform remediation of findings.
  • Serve as a first responder for cyber security incidents, monitor alerts, events and incidents identified through security event management tools and confirm validity of identified incidents.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Facilitates training and education efforts as appropriate for Astrophysics personnel related to security policies, procedures, practices, awareness and risks associated with technology, cyber and data security.
  • Coordinate data security log reviews in a timely manner and report on findings. Make recommendations for improvements


  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of IT work experience with a broad range of exposure to network, systems, application support, and/or database administration.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience with information security.
  • CISSP or COMPTIA a plus
